Prior to entering the contest, consider these things
Registration and Awards
- Accepting entries from October 9, 2023, to October 31, 2023. The competition runs for 60 days for each season.
- The first month is about registration, the second-month registration lines are closed, and voting lines carry on with the public and supporters able to vote for their favourite participant via SMS.
- The voting line will be open from October 9, 2023, to November 30, 2023.
- The 1st place winner with the highest votes will be awarded R2000 and an award certificate. The 2nd and 3rd place winners will be awarded certificates and get featured on our website for online exposure and recognition.
- MAKE IT POP awards are open to all areas of art, media and design.
- Entrants must be legally SA residents 18+
- Must enter only rebranded work that they are allowed or have permission to rebrand.
You can rebrand your own old work or take inspiration from nature
Any art, Media and design work, whether digital or physical work.
Rules and Eliminations
- You cannot enter multiple categories unless you are submitting different work for each.
- If you are not sure about where your work fits in our categories or if it’s different but falls under art, media and design, choose ‘Best artist in creativity’ as your category.
- The work you enter must have been produced by yourself, not by someone else or on their behalf. Yes, it’s a rebranding competition but only enter work that you rebranded yourself.
Elimination and Disqualification
- No full credits to the original creation/owner/product.
- No MAKE IT POP logo on your rebranded work.
- Rebranded work that contains TikTok Icon.
- Using or rebranding someone’s work/creation/product without their permission.
- Submitting false information.
- Not following our rules, requirements and credit acknowledgment format.
Terms and Conditions
How to vote?
MAKE IT POP Awards runs a premium-rated SMS line. The purpose of this; is to determine which participant received the highest votes from art supporters and fans. Each participant will have a unique keyword e.g. ‘iPOP 29’. In this case, the participant with the highest number of votes will be considered the 1st place winner and will be contacted via email in order to communicate further regarding the delivery of the monetary award and certificate. Then the 2nd and 3rd place winners will be contacted via email as well in order to communicate further regarding the delivery of the award certificates. To vote for your favorite participant, Send an SMS with the participant’s keyword to 33282. You can vote as many times as you would like. SMSs are charged at R1.50 per SMS, network fees and/or administration fees may be charged and free SMSs do not apply.
What is the closing date?
The voting line will be open from October 9, 2023, to November 30, 2023. MAKE IT POP Awards will be accepting entries from October 9, 2023, to October 31, 2023, and sending back the ‘vote-for-me’ posters of the accepted entries during this time frame from October 9, 2023 – October 31, 2023. Participants can promote their creations online and offline until the closing date of the competition which is November 30, 2023, in order to obtain votes for themselves. We advise participants to promote themselves as soon as they receive their ‘vote-for-me’ posters and to ensure that participants indicate and inform their supporters and fans that SMSs are charged at R1.50 per SMS, regardless of whether it is an online or offline campaign. The competition results will be announced on our social media platforms. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be contacted via email within 7 days of the closing date. The competition entry is free.
What do I need to consider beforehand?
Entering this competition implies that you have read the rules and agree to comply with our terms and conditions.
